Mr. Weil

Meet Michael Weil, our English, Drama and Choir teacher for CHS.

Mr. Weil's first job was at a pizza shop starting his freshman year in high school for $6.25/hr. He attended college at Concordia Chicago because when he met the faculty he knew he would learn so much from each one of them, and he did!

As an English and Drama teacher, he reads all the time. For fun, he recently finished reading Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow and loved comparing the book to the musical. Reading about the great men in the generation of the Founding Fathers grapple with some of the same issues we struggle with now provides some hope that we, too, can move beyond differences and figure things out together.

His daughter is always pleasantly surprising him with her humor and exuberance. She is just now becoming aware of the upcoming progression of holidays and loves decorating and planning for them. She loves to sing and frequently puts different words (often people’s names) into the songs she has learned.

His favorite time of the day is the time just before dawn when the sky is alive with color and the day is full of possibilities.
